Hallå Amnesty, vem är den store boven?

Israel har gjort sig skyldig till krigsbrott i Libanon. Det menar Amnesty i en rapport. SvD skriver:

Amnesty ser ett mönster av slumpartade och oproportionerliga attacker som resulterade i att 25 procent av civilbefolkningen, nästan en miljon människor, tvingades på flykt. Israel anföll från marken, luften och havet. Huvudvägar, broar och bensinstationer bombades.

Hela familjer dödades vid flygbombningar av deras hem eller bilar. Många låg begravda i bråtet i veckor eftersom Röda Korset och andra hjälporganisationer inte kunde ta sig fram på grund av de omfattande bombningarna.

Amnesty:
International humanitarian law governs the conduct of war, and seeks to protect civilians, others not participating in the hostilities, and civilian objects. In an armed conflict, military forces must distinguish between civilian objects, which may not be attacked, and military objectives, which, subject to certain conditions, may be. The principle of distinction is a cornerstone of the laws of war.

Snapped Shot:
Considering that the Geneva Convention only applies to armies which wear a uniform, and behave in a manner compliant with the Convention, it’s odd that Amnesty makes this claim about the enemy that wears no uniform! The provisions for a ”military force” to be fully recognized under the Conventions are,

• That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;
• That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
• That of carrying arms openly;
• That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war

It would appear to me, that Hezbullah violates ALL FOUR PROVISIONS. Tell me again why they should be dealt with in terms of a treaty of honor?

Det märkliga här är varför Amnesty är tyst om Hizbollahs uppenbara brott mot krigets lagar. Som många andra fördömer Amnesty Israels aktioner utan att ägna en tanke åt vilka andra sätt det fanns för Israel att slå ut Hizbollah.
